Reasons for working at Prospera Credit Union:  At Prospera Credit Union we’re encouraged to create a fabulous experience for our members, not simply a boring appointment. We have waterfalls, TVs in our branches, coloring books and even dog biscuits for our member’s pooches. We take pride in treating our members like they are guests in our home.

It’s simply a great company to work for every day. They value our team, members, community, culture, desire to have fun, development, vacation time, benefits, balance of work and play, creativity, authenticity and again, (did I mention) our fun! 

My Boss:  Hilarious…. Darrell Oshiro is a brilliant guy (don’t print this) but also really funny. I mean, he’s crazy funny.  Darrell is our Regional Manager, he expects a lot from us but he keeps our culture fun, enjoyable, flexible and real. Every time I talk to him he makes me think, and he always makes me laugh.   
 
Co-Workers:  The staff at my branch are a fantastic group of people – they really make it worth coming in every day.  They’re dedicated, not just there for the pay cheque.  I don’t know what else I can say about them without having to treat them to dinner when they hear this.

Defining moment of choosing to work here:  When I was being interviewed for this role, I recall being told; once you work in the Financial Services Industry in a Credit Union… you’re hooked and will never look back. Not sure I believed this then but I do now. It’s all about the people. 

The Flat side:  I’ve been trying for years to be a morning person and get here on time…It’s just not possible.  On the business side, I’m an extreme optimist and we want to help out all of our members all the time, sometimes we aren’t able to.    

Why I still like it here:  Every day is different, there is color and flexibility in our world at Prospera Credit Union plus we get to help our members to become financially successful. There’s nothing better than that! I’m also a big hockey fan and Prospera Credit Union supports embracing your passions. So, to someone finding the stick and the glove, now where the heck is the puck?
